Questions

Frequently asked

Is Glitch Wars free?

Yes. The full game plays free in your browser with no account and no ads. A Windows download is also available.

Do I need an account?

No. There are no accounts. Your progress saves locally on the device you play on.

What are the controls?

Keyboard: WASD or arrow keys to move, Space or click to shoot, Shift for a bomb, P or Escape to pause. Gamepad and touch are supported too. On a phone, drag the left side to move and hold the right side to fire.

What is the difference between Arcade and Campaign?

Arcade is an endless roguelike run with all five weapons unlocked, escalating enemy tiers, and its own save. Campaign is a fixed five-act story of 150 levels with a crew, contracts, branching decisions and three endings; you start with the Basic weapon and unlock the rest at the Fleet Dock.

How do upgrades work?

After each level you choose one of three upgrades from a four-branch tree. They last for the current run only — dying resets the tree, so every run is a new build.

What is the Fleet Dock?

A shop that opens after boss fights. You spend Salvage on ship systems — hull, shields, thrusters, reactor, cargo and weapon marks. In the campaign it is also where you unlock new weapons.

What is my fleet, and why does it matter?

In the campaign you escort a flotilla of 200 ships and 2,000 souls. Enemies that slip past you attack the fleet. Clear at least 80% of each level to keep them safe; a perfect 100% clear can bring lost ships back. Fleet size feeds your bonus salvage.

Does it work on phones?

Yes, in landscape. On phones the playfield renders larger and enemy speed is tuned so it plays fair on a small screen.

Does progress sync between the browser and the Windows app?

No. Saves are local to each install. The two builds share the same game, but not the same save.

How do I report a bug?

Press Ctrl+B in the game to file a report. It captures a screenshot and recent events. See the Support page for details.
