Your starting weapon and the one every build leans on. A single fast cyan bolt straight up the screen, cheap on heat so you can hold the trigger. Stack Multi-Shot and it fires a parallel column; stack Rapid Fire and it becomes a wall.

How to use it

Low heat means Basic is the safest answer to a crowded screen — you can fire almost continuously while other weapons cool.
